Cleaning

Sometimes I have to just vacuum right around them and their toys in order to get some cleaning done. And other times I have to hold Saige while I vacuum which is definitely an arm workout!

Play & Nap

Nap time for one, Play time for the other. Colby going down for his nap today with all his stuff that he likes in bed with him (Woody, Jessie, both of their hats, night light, pillow pet, binky). Saige just woke up from a nap and was ready to play. Lately their nap schedules have been off. For a while they both were taking naps right at the same time. Now Saige is waking from her late morning nap when Colby is going down for his. Then Saige stays up and plays for a couple hours before taking her afternoon nap. I really like it this way because I get one on one time with each of them. It's nice to be able to focus on one child and what they want you to play with them.

Yee-Haw

"Yee-Haw Woof!!" Today Colby was putting Woody on Akira's back and saying yee-haw woof. Sometimes he calls her woof instead of using her name. This was seriously so cute.

Smoothies for Breakfast

I made some more "green" smoothies today. Except they are more purple than green. We all enjoyed it, even Saige. She actually really loved it and would get mad when I would take it from her so I could have some too. Colby has a nice little smoothie goatee going on! Today's smoothies had frozen mango, pineapple, strawberry, peach, blueberries, raspberries (that I picked in the summer!), a couple small oranges, a handful of spinach, and a little bit of water and juice.

Together

My babies hanging out together. I'm always attempting to get a good picture of these two together and it is almost impossible. Colby has gotten better about being ok with me putting her next to him, but he either moves away, puts his hands in his mouth, or wont look at me. Saige is usually good, but now that she crawls she doesn't like to stay in one place. At least I was able to get this one which is good for the most part, minus Colby's hands in his mouth.

Weather

Sword Fight

Today we went to Target to get a few things. Mark saw these foam swords in the dollar section so we grabbed a couple. They are a hit with both kids. I just happened to get this cute pic of Saige hitting her dad on the head with the sword. So excited!

My View

This is my view everyday. The cutest little baby hanging on my legs begging me to pick her up. Now that she crawls/army crawls and pulls to stand she is always at my feet, pulling up, and wrapping her arms around my legs.

Tail

"I caught the cats tail!!" Luckily Butters is one of the most laid back cats ever.

Cookies

I've started making cookies once a week since I've stopped buying packaged cookies and sweets from the store. This recipe is so good. The cookies stay nice and soft. It's from my awesome friend and former roommate Jenny. Colby constantly asks for cookies now. I think the first time I made them he ate at least three.

Mirror, Mirror

Colby was playing with this mirror today and showed Saige how to look at herself. They were having so much fun taking turns looking in the mirror and laughing.

Nice Kitties

When I saw these two snuggling close I had to get a picture for proof that they do actually like each other. (either that or the house was too cold) They rarely get this close to each other and if they do they are usually rough housing. Seeing them together reminded me of the first time I brought Butters home and Callie hated him, she hissed and ran after him when he tried to lay in her favorite spot.

Reading

Colby loves to copy his dad. Today Mark was reading and Colby went and got a book and snuggled himself right in. Too cute!

In her mouth

Saige loves to crawl around with small toys in her mouth. I feel like I'm constantly taking things out of her mouth. There are always smaller toys around because of Colby. It sure is funny to see her crawling (usually army crawling) with some little toy sticking out of her mouth. In this picture it's a Nerf dart.

Breakfast

Colby always wants to help feed Saige. Today she was eating yogurt and he was begging me to let him help. He's pretty good at getting it in her mouth, but he of course gets it all over her face and clothes. I think he really likes feeding her because then he can sneak a bite or two for himself!

Akira

Colby sure does love Akira. I don't know what he would do without her. He plays with her all the time, gives her toys, plays chase, tries to ride her, gives her hugs and kisses, dragging her around by her collar, and loves feeding her and sharing food. He just recently started calling her by her name instead of calling her dog or woof. He says "Kia". He always says good night to her when he goes to bed. Seeing the two of them together makes me so happy. I'm glad my children are able to experience loving animals.

Grocery Shopping

Grocery shopping can be such a chore with two kids. Now that Saige is older I've been letting her sit in the seat (instead of wearing her in the baby carrier) but then I have to put Colby in the basket which doesn't work very well. He smashes produce, tries to eat things through the plastic bag (this trip it was carrots), opens boxes of crackers and cereal. No matter how frustrated I get I have to laugh at this picture. Colby is trying so hard to open the bag of goldfish crackers. Saige is just so ready to be done.

Green Smoothie

Today I made some green smoothies (fruit smoothie with spinach). Colby was loving it and kept asking for more and trying to drink mine. I snapped this pic of him with leftover smoothie all over his face.

Gun

Colby has been obsessed with guns lately. I'm not sure where he picked it up, but he was loving his cousins Nerf guns at Christmas time. Since he was pretending that everything is a gun (like his toy saw) we went and got him some little Nerf guns this weekend. When we told him we were going to buy him a gun he walked around all day saying "buy gun, buy gun" over and over. All weekend he has been playing with them. He can't actually shoot the darts because he's not strong enough, but he doesn't really care.

Big Snow

For the past two days it has been snowing. Today it finally cleared and was sunny, but it was way too cold. Mark and Colby went out to play but only for about 10 min. I think it snowed at least a foot, maybe more. Friday evening I took Colby and Akira out to play while Saige was napping. They were having a blast. Even though it was still snowing, I knew it would be warmer than it was today. Also on Thursday I took both of them out for a little bit. It was Saige's first time in the snow, but she was not impressed. She sat there for a minute then just wanted me to pick her up.

Yum

Colby left some crackers on the ground today, so of course Saige found them and went town. This girl sure does love her food!

I couldn't resist adding another photo for today. Today at dinner I was feeding Saige but I guess not fast enough for her. Somehow she managed to lean forward and reach her bowl which was on the table past her tray. She got a hold of it and before I realized it she already had her face in it. So I just let her keep it. She tried drinking it but ended up scooping it with her fingers. She was very messy and had went straight to the bath!

Cheese!

Today I looked over and Colby had grabbed my camera. He kept holding it up to his face and saying Cheese! It was too cute to watch him. (taken with my cell phone)

"Hands up in the Air"

We were driving to the store and the song "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz came on the radio. When ever the part comes on where he says "Throw your hands up in the air" Colby puts his hands up. It was too cute not to get a pic of. Luckily we were at a stop sign and I was able to put my camera above my head and snap this pic. He's such a funny kid.

My Boy

Just a little one on one time with Colby while Saige was taking a nap. Although he was more interested in the cartoon I had put on to occupy him while I put her down for her nap. Love this little boy who made me a mom. (he didn't have clothes on because we had just taken baths and then I had to put Saige down before she got to fussy.)

Clean

Folding clean cloth diapers and putting them in piles for each of my babies. One of my many laundry chores, but one that I kind of actually enjoy. It's weird I know, but there is something about these diapers that I love.

Peek-a-boo

Playing a little game of peek-a-boo with Saige today. She was loving it. I would cover her face with a towel and then she would grab it off of her face. She also loved it when I put the towel over my face so she could pull it off me.

Good Bye Christmas

Today I finally took down all the Christmas decorations and all the ornaments off the tree. I left it up longer that I should have, but I just wanted to enjoy it for as long as we could. Especially since we were gone for a week during Christmas. I loved that Colby would come down first thing in the morning, say "yights!" and turn on the Christmas tree lights. I loved how good our tree smelled. Now all that is left is red storage tubs full of Christmas, an empty tree stand, and a whole mess of pine needles! At least they smell really good when I vacuum them up!

Little Helper

Colby loves to help me and I love it when he helps. I don't have to bend over and shove clothes in the washer! It's the perfect height for him. It's so cute to watch him using all his might to push the clothes in so they don't come tumbling out onto him.

Bath Time

Just my two cuties taking a bath today. Sometimes I like to give them baths in the morning when we don't have anywhere to go that day. It makes evening time so much more relaxing. And yes there are too many bath toys in there. They actually got some new ones for Christmas and I was planning on throwing out the old ones but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Stuck Like Glue

This girl is so attached to me, sometimes I really feel like she is stuck to me. Today we sat down to play together while Colby was napping and all she wants to do is crawl on me and over me. Crazy little girl. This is how she has been for about the past month, but she's been even worse since we got back from our Christmas trip. She used to sit and play with toys happily but now if I try to leave her on the ground she will just cry and army crawl after me. It gets frustrating for me, but I'm sure in a few months I'll miss my little girl crawling all over me.

Sick Day

Sick mama = Pizza for dinner. I really thought I was getting better until today and this cold hit me hard. Thankfully both kids took a nap around the same time so I was able to as well.

Boots

This is so Colby right now. He loves putting on his snow boots. He will put them on at least 3-4 times a day. He's really good at doing it by himself, even if they are sometimes on backwards. ;)

Dino

We gave Saige this Dino ride on/walker toy for Christmas. She was having a lot of fun on it today while Colby was napping. If he's awake he thinks he should be riding on it instead of Saige. She likes to sit on it and rock back and forth. She doesn't quite get how to walk behind it yet.
